OCTOBER MUSIC FAVOURITES

Well, this month ended up being very music heavy compared to previous ones! Last month we ended with Meghan Trainor's 'All About That Bass', let's see where October took us.

THESE DAYS - TAKE THAT

Well the video for this song dropped yesterday and it is so so so good. When I first heard the song I did like it, although it definitely was totally different to what I was expecting from the newly 3-piece manband! I kind of forgot about it though until the video came and now I'm obsessed. SO GOOD.

1989 - TAYLOR SWIFT

Just going to deal with this as a whole album. I'm not really a T-Swizz fan but I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about so downloaded the album and imported it into Spotify since it's not available there yet! Tonight I've had it on repeat so it can't be that bad... Stand out tracks for me are 'I Wish You Would', 'Wonderland' and 'New Romantics'.

GREATEST DAY - TAKE THAT

This is probably in this playlist four times... I like to listen to my playlist from date added and don't normally shuffle so whenever I fancy an old song I just add it again. Such a classic.

AHORA TE PUEDES MARCHAR - LUIS MIGUEL

One of the songs our teacher used in first year to teach Georgia, Stefano and I some kind of grammar. Obviously having them here for the weekend made this incredible song resurface.

LAST CHRISTMAS - WHAM!

So with it being autum/winter ish back in the UK but not at all here in Spain, I decided to listen to Christmas songs to up the wintery spirit. This one ended up in my playlist and I couldn't bear to remove it because I love it so much. I can never decide if my favourite Christmas song is this or 'Wonderful Christmastime' by Paul McCartney but I think this year Wham! edges it.

VIENNA - BILLY JOEL
WE DIDN'T START THE FIRE - BILLY JOEL
PIANO MAN - BILLY JOEL

Sometimes you just need some classic Billy Joel in your life.

I FORGET WHERE WE WERE - BEN HOWARD

Another one I'm grouping together as an album because ain't nobody got time for a track-by-track. I LOVE THIS ALBUM. It took me a while and I think I still prefer his debut but man, Ben Howard is so so so good. Last week he announced a UK arena tour and I convinced Chelsea and Beth to meet me in Newcastle and see him there! I got us our three standing tickets on Wednesday and I am soooo super excited, I think he'll be amazing live. Fave tracks are 'Time is Dancing' and 'Conrad'.

BECAUSE THE NIGHT - PATTI SMITH
PARADISE BY THE DASHBOARD LIGHT - MEATLOAF
LET'S GET IT ON - MARVIN GAYE
BARRACUDA - HEART
AIN'T NO SUNSHINE - BILL WITHERS
MR. BLUE SKY - ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA
BORN TO RUN - BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN

When I went home for the weekend we spent one of the evenings going through a 70s classics playlist and I added some of my faves. Old music is the best music.

CAPSIZED - YOU+ME

This is actually a collaboration between Alecia Moore (P!nk) and Dallas Green (City and Colour). I added the first track of the album so I could go back and listen to the whole thing - I haven't actually gotten around to doing that yet but I do really love this first song. Their voices are so lush together.

THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR - DJ JAZZY JEFF AND WILL SMITH

Classic. Absolute classic.

BUSY EARNIN' - JUNGLE

When I was at home there was an advert that played this song sooooo many times and it really annoyed me that I didn't know what the song was because I really liked it. I think it reminds me of 'Midnight City' by M83.

STEAL MY GIRL - ONE DIRECTION

I wasn't that keen on this new One Direction single initially, not because of the music but the lyrical content. Not even Harry Styles could claim I 'belong' to him. But as much as I want to boycott this song I can't because I really really like it because the music bit is so good. It's like the beat of Blurred Lines is fab but the content is so so so wrong. I feel bad for liking it.

IF YOU'RE NOT THE ONE - DANIEL BEDINGFIELD

Who can resist Daniel Bedingfield I mean really. Such a tune.

RULE THE WORLD (ABBEY ROAD VERSION) - TAKE THAT
GREATEST DAY (ABBEY ROAD VERSION) - TAKE THAT

'Rule the World' is so beautiful anyway but hearing it and 'Greatest Day' stripped down and acoustic recorded at Abbey Road is just something else. Take That are so good.

GLOW - ELLA HENDERSON

The X Factor might be really crap recently but when they found Ella Henderson they did so well, she is amazing. I so wish I could sing.

THE DAYS - AVICII

ROBBIE WILLIAMS SINGS ON THIS SONG SO THAT'S WHY IT'S HERE. Haha no I'm kidding, that was the initial reason but now I looooove it. Such a tune.

ROBBERS - THE 1975

I've tried listening to The 1975's album so many times because people seem to love them but I just don't think they're my thing. Well, except for this one. This song is so pretty (even though most of the lyrics I can't make sense of because Matty doesn't enunciate properly, oh well).

BANG BANG - JESSIE J, ARIANA GRANDE, NICKI MINAJ

BANG BANG INTO THE ROOOOOOOM. Another song that makes me wish I could sing. These are such talented ladies and I want to be all of them, simultaneously.

And that's it! So many more than all of the other months I've done, I know. That's what happens when two good albums are released at the same time!

Until next time, hasta luego.
