It's not really a secret that I seem to be struggling with my year abroad but I think that's probably because of other issues, on top of the massive amount of stress that comes with being uprooted. However, we are fortunate enough to be living in a time where mental health is becoming less and less of a taboo as days go by. At least not in the circles I'm in, both on and offline. A thing I see quite often online is the idea of self care - either things you prepare for your down days or things you do regularly to help yourself. So obviously me being me I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and write about what helps me out. Maybe if you're on a year abroad and also having a shitty time this could help.

FOOD
So the other day I was sat in my
seminar and not really listening (bad student, very very bad) and was doodling
on my paper. Next thing I know, it’s been five minutes and I look down to see
the results of my daydream. It was a list of all the English food that I miss.
Spain just does not compare. Since it’s now less than a week (!!!) until I’m
home, I thought I’d write what I wrote down and torture myself that little bit
more.
